About Our Chorus

The Show-Me Showboaters was formed in 2004.  We meet regularly to practice, perform, socialize, and have fun!   We are one of over 800 chapters of the Barbershop Harmony Society. Some of our members have a lot of experience singing, others had little before they joined our chorus. But all of us have one thing in common - we love to sing and it shows!

Performance

We love to get out and sing for community events in Jefferson City and throughout mid-Missouri. We sing for private parties, community groups, school events and other venues looking for quality entertainment.  Each fall we put on a major performance at the Miller Center in Jefferson City, Missouri.  If you're looking for a unique musical experience to liven up your event, please check out our Hire Us section.

Committed to Youth Education

We are committed to working with local schools to spread the word on the unique value of barbershop style a capella singing.  Each year we do educational performances at local schools.  We also use the proceeds from our fall show to support the music programs at Jefferson City and Helias Catholic High Schools.  We also provide a $500 music scholarship for young men from each school who wish to continue singing with a vocal group at the collegiate level.

Quartets

Our chorus has members who have formed their own vocal quartets in addition to singing with the chorus. The Showboaters currently has three quartets, and we are very proud of them!
