Showboaters welcome new director

 

 

 

Kim Keesler joins the Jefferson City Show-Me Showboaters as their new barbershop chorus director following the departure of Sean Abel .

Keesler graduated from Southwest Baptist College in 1979 and taught vocal and instrumental music in public schools for 15 years. He will continue to direct music at Spring Garden Baptist Church and with his three grown daughters in their gospel music group called Trilogy.

Showboaters, a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, was formed in Nov. 2004 with more than 800 chapters through the nation comprised of 30,000 men singing a cappella. They have performed for the Show-Me Senior Games, churches and various civic organizations.

They rehearse
7-9:30 p.m. Tuesday nights at the Capital West Christian Church at 1308 Fairgrounds Rd. in Jefferson City .
