Formed in March 2005, these singers have diverse professional backgrounds and musical histories.  Since they were formed, the High Street Sound has performed at social gatherings, a wedding (Lyle's), church functions, and delivered singing telegrams.


John Downs works for the State of Missouri, Department of Social Services and sang with the Columbia, Missouri-based Boonslick Chordbusters before co-founding the Jefferson City, Missouri-based Show-Me Showboaters. John is a Master Gardner with an amazing ability to provide odd props for various singing events.


Lyle Rosburg is the Chief Financial Officer of the Jefferson City Medical Group and is a Reserve Deputy with the Cole County Sheriff's Office.  Lyle sang with the Boonslick Chordbusters and the St. Louis #1 Chorus before moving to Central Missouri.


Les Balty, has over 40 years of customer service, public contact and performance experience singing, acting and/or narrating hundreds of presentations in both electronic media and before live audiences from one to several thousand people including performing in over 35 musicals.  Les is totally devoted to his students at 5-6-7-8 Dancenter where he teaches musical theater, voice and acting. Les credits his wife, Lisa for inspiring and supporting his avocation.  They live and travel in a 40-foot motorhome withtheir pug-child, Phoebe who sometimes makes appearances at the studio. Les has a “day job” with Jefferson City Transit driving a HandiWheels bus.

Bill Lehman is the Transit Operations Supervisor for the City of Jefferson. In addition to singing with High Street Sound, Bill serves as the Show Me Showboaters Chorus Director. Bill also sings with the Our Savior's Lutheran Church Choir and is a member of the Jefferson City Cantorum. He serves as accompanist for First United Methodist Church and rehearsal accompanist for the Jefferson City Philharmonic Choral.
